Toys for Tots November events

ROCKLAND — Help bring the joy of the holidays to local children by dropping off a new unwrapped toy to one of the fun events listed below.

Location: Flag Ship Cinema in Thomaston, Friday, Nov. 28 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Bring a new unwrapped toy to the movies and receive a free popcorn. 

Location: The corner of Park and Lisle Streets in Rockland, Friday, Nov. 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Meet, Julia, an area youth who has created a service project helping Toys for Tots. This enterprising young lady will be collecting new unwrapped toys and handing out cookies.

Location: Main Street, Rockland, Saturday, Nov. 29 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Annual Festival of Lights Parade. Enjoy a hot cup of coco and cookies. Drop of a new unwrapped toy and a non perishable food item for the food pantry.

New unwrapped toys can also be dropped off at various box locations throughout Knox, Lincoln, and Waldo Counties. Visit rockland-me.toysfortots.org, to find the nearest location.

Cone Home, Dunkin Donuts, and the Lions Club of Camden have all made generous donations, and Big Al's has donated two truckloads of toys.

 "We couldn't make such a difference in the lives of local children without the support of the community," said Joan Vargas, Toys for Tots Coordinator.
