Steve Brooke to discuss dam removals in Maine during GRTU March meeting

    ROCKPORT —  George's River Trout Unlimited (GRTU) welcomes Steve Brooke, who will speak about dam removals in Maine, Monday, March 11, at 7 p.m., at Maine Sport (upstairs fly shop), 115 Commercial Street, Rockport.

    Brooks was the Kennebec Coalition project manager for the precedent-setting Edwards Dam removal in 1999, which restored fisheries and wildlife habitat and sparked a movement for free-flowing rivers across the US and around the world.

    The GRTU meeting starts at 6 p.m., with an informal gathering for those who wish to visit before the presentation. (Pizza available for purchase by the slice). The featured presentation starts at 7 p.m.
