Sept. 13 middle school soccer results

Busline League middle school soccer action took place Wednesday, Sept. 13 throughout the Midcoast region. 

Below are the scores and stats that were submitted to our sports department.

6th Grade Co-Ed: Bristol 7, Camden-Rockport 1

CRMS held Bristol to seven shots on goal in the first half before falling to Bristol 7-1 in the second half.

William Duke scored for the Schooners.

Girls: Camden-Rockport 11, Boothbay 0

Ali Saucier (twice), Ali Tassoni and Felicity Whalen (twice) found the net for the Schooners in the first half. 

In the second half, Ellie Andrus, Julia Benson, Lily Engass, Molly Hixon, Hivy Merriam and Hannah Christie scored for CRMS. 

7th Grade Boys: Camden-Rockport White 2, Wiscasset 2

The CRMS boys seventh grade soccer team traveled to Wiscasset for their second game of the year.

Wiscasset opened the scoring about midway through the first half and added a second goal shortly there after on an unlucky bounce for the Schooners.

Halftime came with the Schooners down 2-0.

After the team regrouped at half, the Schooners saw the run of play in the second half.

Their first goal came when Owen Berez beat a player and crossed the ball to Zanni Sabatini who buried the ball in the net.

Their second goal came about seven minutes later when Owen played a ball back to Josiah Booker. He was able to take a touch and score from 20 yards out.

The game went into a sudden death five minute overtime period that saw several Schooner chances but no goals fell for either team.

The hard fought match ended in a 2-2 draw. 

Girls: Medomak 3, Great Salt Bay 0 

With 17 minutes gone in the first half, Great Salt Bay committed a penalty, setting Annie Vannoy up for the penalty kick. The goalie was able to deflect her kick, but Grace White was sprinting after the ball and was able to beat the goalie to put the ball into the back of the net giving MMS the 1-0 lead. 

In the second half, Vannoy was able to put the ball into the goal with only 2:20 gone giving MMS a 2-0 lead.

Lizzi Swan was able to find the net on a cross from Vannoy three minutes later giving MMS a 3-0 advantage. 

Great defense was played by Zaniah Puchalski and Julia Kunesh, according to MMS head coach Andrea Williamson. 

MMS offense was very aggressive, Williamson noted, with Swan, Ruth Havener, Cameron Baines, Vannoy, Skylah Ward, Autumn Ripley and White attacking the goal at all times. 

Boys: Great Salt Bay 3, Medomak 2 [2 OT]

The Riverhawk boys fell in double overtime against Great Salt Bay Wednesday 3-2.

Both teams played extremely hard, according to Medomak head coach Jackson Fortin. Scoring for the Riverhawks was Addison Mellor and Will Cheeseman.

In goal for Medomak was Jaiden Starr and Ryan Jarvis who both made phenomenal saves in both halves. Aiden Sawyer, Tyler Leonard, Blake Morrison provided tough defense throughout the whole game, according to Fortin.
