ROCKPORT — The Penobscot Bay YMCA Sailfish youth swim team has started off the 2014 campaign with a bang, one that saw the team easily defeat the Portland YMCA Polar Bears Saturday, Dec. 6.

“We appear to have our strongest team ever this year and will make a go at making a real challenge to the perennial state champions, the Bath Area Y Swim Team.,” said head coach Hodding Carter, who has been at the helm of the Sailfish for seven-and-a-half years. “At wors[t], looking at our line-up compared with the other Y's around the state, we will come in second again this year. Best of all, if all goes according to plan, we will have a handful of our elite swimmers qualify for Y Nationals which is held the first week of April in Greensboro, NC.”
