Penobscot Bay Singers begin 44th season

    BELFAST — The Penobscot Bay Singers will begin rehearsals for their 2017-2018 season on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 7:00 p.m., St. Margaret's Parish Hall, 100 Court Street, Belfast. Rehearsals will be held each Wednesday evening. The first concert cycle will be December 9 and 10, 2017. The concert is entitled " A Child's Christmas in Wales" utilizing Dylan Thomas text and complementary music.

    The group is actively seeking new singers and asking previous singers from any past season to return. We welcome all ages and voice parts. To audition, please plan to attend either the September 6 or 13 rehearsal. You will be asked to sing through the rehearsal then meet with our director, Richard M. Dostie. He will ask you to sing a few scales to place your voice, and you will mutually decide if Pen Bay Singers is a good fit for you. Cost is $50 for the season (three concerts). The concert dates for 2017-2018 season are December 9 and 10, 2017, March 24 and 25, 2018 and June 15 and 16, 2018. Singers may choose to sing one, two or all three concerts.     The Penobscot Bay Singers, originally the Robert Coller Coastal Chorale, has been entertaining audiences in and around Waldo County since 1973. The singers are an eclectic group, ranging from a pre-teen to singers in their 90's, with varying backgrounds. The common factor is love of choral music.
