Oceanside baseball, softball top Camden Hills

ROCKPORT — The Oceanside varsity baseball and softball teams hit the road Wednesday, May 23 to Rockport where they bested the Camden Hills Windjammers. 

Oceanside baseball improved to 12-2 with the victory, while Camden Hills dropped to 2-12. 

Oceanside softball improved to 12-2 with the victory, while Camden Hills dropped to 3-11. 

Baseball: Oceanside 10, Camden Hills 2 

Oceanside plated four runs in the first inning, three in the second, two in the fourth and one in the seventh, while collecting 15 hits and committing two errors. 

Camden Hills plated its lone pair of runs in the third inning, while collecting eight hits and committing two errors. 

At the plate for Oceanside were Titus Kaewthong (two singles, triple, three runs), Jack Freeman (single, two doubles, three RBIs), Michael Norton Jr (two singles) and Ben Ripley (two singles). 

At the plate for Camden Hills were Quinn Brown (two singles), Nate Johnson (double) and Braden Fisher (two singles). 

Softball: Oceanside 5, Camden Hills 4

Oceanside plated a run in each the second, third and fifth innings, while also plating two in the fourth. Oceanside collected seven hits and committed one error. 

Camden Hills plated three in the fourth inning and one in the sixth, while collecting four hits and committing three errors. 

In the pitcher’s circle for Oceanside was Chloe Jones, who walked five batters. 

In the pitcher’s circle for Camden Hills was Emily Long, who fanned two batters. 

At the plate for Oceanside were Rachel Joyce (home run, single, RBI), Casey Pine (double), Abby Veilleux (single) and Grace Woodman (single, RBI). 

At the plate for Camden Hills were Amanda McFarland (triple, RBI), Gillian Lafleve (single, two RBIs), Alyson Glasier (single) and Lauren Miller (single).
