The Midcoast sports scene was busy with several sporting events on Tuesday, May 9.

Below are the scores and stats for those contests that were reported to our sports department.

Varsity Baseball: Gardiner 10, Oceanside 2

Oceanside (4-2) plated its lone two runs in the third inning. Gardiner (4-3) plated two runs in each the first, second, third and seventh innings while scoring one in each the fourth and sixth innings. 

On the mound for Oceanside: Jack Freeman (four innings, seven runs, two earned runs, three hits, three strikeouts, four walks), Matt Waldron (two innings, three runs, three earned runs, four hits, two strikeouts, one walk, one balk) and Titus Kaewthong (one inning, one walk). 

On the mound for Gardiner: Sam Jermyn (four innings, two runs, one earned run, two hits, four strikeouts, five walks, one balk), Alec Shorey (one inning, two strikeouts, two walks) and Cole Lawrence (two innings, two strikeouts). 

At the plate for Gardiner: Kolton Brochu (two singles, RBI), Ryan Kelley (double), Marc Cloutier (double), Devon Maschino (double, two RBI).
