Lindsey Rustad to speak at George’s River Trout Unlimited meeting

ROCKPORT — Join George’s River Trout Unlimited for a discussion with Lindsey Rustad on the effects of climate change on salmonids and other fish, Monday, Feb. 12, in the fly shop at Maine Sport, in Rockport.

Lindsey Rustad is co-director of the USDA Northeast Climate Hub providing expertise on the impacts of global change on northeastern forests, a research ecologist for the USDA Forest Service Center for Research on Ecosystem Change in Durham, New Hampshire and a team leader for the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest in New Hampshire. Her areas of expertise include biogeochemistry, global change impacts, and advanced environmental sensor systems. 

Her presentation is informed by long-term integrated research on the subtle effects of changing climate on complex ecosystems.

The meeting will start at 6 p.m. with “Trout Talk,” an informal gathering for those who wish to visit and meet Rustad before the presentation. Pizza is available for purchase by the slice.

The formal meeting and featured presentation begin at 7 p.m.

GRTU conducts a raffle directly following the speaker. TU membership is open to all. GRTU meetings are free and open to the public.
