OWLS HEAD — Jeff Northgraves has been appointed to serve as the interim airport manager for the Knox County Regional Airport, beginning March 25. Northgraves will work side by side with Jeremy Shaw, who will be leaving the position on March 31. Shaw announced in February that he would be leaving the county to accept another position.

Northgraves served as the full time airport manager for 16 years. He retired in 2020, at which time Jeremy was appointed as his replacement. Northgraves currently serves as a member of the Airport Public Advisory Committee, is a member of the Knox County Budget Committee and is a member of the South Thomaston Select Board. He retired as a Lt. Colonel after 27 years in the U.S. Air Force.

He will serve as the interim airport manager until a permanent manager is hired. His work schedule will be part time and he will be the primary contact for airport-related business. In the meantime, Knox County is conducting a regional and national search to fill the full time position.

“While we are sorry to see Jeremy leave the county, we appreciate all that he has done and will continue to benefit from his hard work and dedication,” Knox County Interim Administrator Gordon Page. “And knowing Jeff as I do, I have every confidence in his abilities to carry on the mission that he has accepted.”

Knox County also recently hired Elizabeth Carver as administrative assistant to the airport manager.

“Elizabeth possesses all the right skills to perform this important job and will be an asset to the airport community as she ramps up with orientation and training,” said Page. “She started with the county on Monday this week.”
