John David Adams, Patricia Stowell perform for Midday Music Series

    ROCKPORT — As part of its Midday Music Series, Bay Chamber presents bass-baritone John David Adams and pianist Patricia Stowell on Wednesday, March 13, at 1 p.m., at Union Hall, 6 Central Street in Rockport. Two respected artists collaborate in a program of vocal works spanning the 18th through 21st centuries. Highlights include the Liederkranz für die Bassstimme, Op. 145 by Carl Loewe, and the song set Everyone Sang by American composer David Conte.
     
    John Adams is a versatile and accomplished singer, praised for performances across the country in concert, opera, recital, and Grammy Award-winning professional vocal ensembles, according to Bay Chamber, in a news release.

    “His rich and flexible voice adapts to a wide repertoire, from Baroque masterworks to world-premiere compositions,” said the release.

    Patricia Stowell is an independent performing artist, chamber musician, regional adjudicator, and instructor with several award-winning students. Her career includes performances in the United States and Europe where she also studied in Germany and Austria.
     
    Bay Chamber’s Midday Music Series offers a midday break in the relaxed atmosphere of Union Hall. Feel free to bring your lunch.

    Tickets include coffee and cookies available before the concert. Bay Chamber is committed to making live performance accessible to a broad audience by offering a tiered ticket pricing system. Tickets are $38 for adults age 35 and over, $20 for adults ages 22-34 and Pay What You Wish for those age 21 and under.
