ROCKLAND — The Coastal Recovery Community Center, Knox Clinic, and MaineHealth Community Health Worker Program announce an upcoming mindfulness meditation event at the CRCC in Rockland. Led by MaineHealth's newest Community Health Worker, Adi, in collaboration with Knox Clinic, this event invites community members to embark on a journey of self-discovery and tranquility through the practice of mindfulness.

Scheduled for Thursday, March 28, from 2 - 4 p.m., participants will have the opportunity to explore the transformative power of mindful breathing – “a simple yet impactful meditation technique that offers profound benefits for mental well-being,” said the Knox Clinic, in a news release. “Held at 11 White Street in Rockland, the event promises a rejuvenating experience for all attendees.”

The practice of mindful breathing is likened to turning off the source of flooding water instead of scooping it out of a cup. By focusing on the breath, individuals naturally gain control over their thoughts, finding solace and stability amidst life's turbulence.

“Participating in mindfulness meditation in a group setting adds a layer of magic to the experience,” said the release. “The shared journey enhances the benefits of the practice, fostering a sense of community and providing opportunities for mutual learning and growth.”

As the event draws near community members are encouraged to stay tuned for further details.

“The organizations look forward to welcoming participants to this enriching experience of self-discovery and collective well-being,” said the Knox Clinic.
