Camden Rockport Middle School is presenting "The Death and Life of Sneaky Fitch," a school adaptation of a boisterous western comedy, March 29 and 30.

“The Death and Life of Sneaky Fitch” is a western comedy play, loosely based on the script by By James L. Rosenberg.

Director Ellen Curtis, Technical Director Erma Colvin, Production Assistant Leo Feldman, and Horizons Arts Artist in Residence Julia Olson lead the production.  They are currently in rehearsal with dozens of 6-7-8th grade students taking this story to life.

The Death and Life of Sneaky Fitch story:

To the ambitious little town of Gopher Gulch, Sneaky Fitch is an abrasive disgrace—a no-good, Sarsaparilla root beer drinking, brawling nuisance. When he falls ill there is a sigh of relief, and when he apparently dies (thanks to some suspicious "medicine" administered by Doc Burch) there are few tears.

Suddenly the old picturesque little town changes, no one dares to confront Sneaky. He soon takes over as sheriff, mayor and town banker—not to mention being the man who faces down Rackham, the fastest gun in the West. In short, where he was formerly unbearable he is now insufferable. But once the truth is out about him it's curtains for Sneaky—and all ends as boisterously and happily as you might wish.
