Brendan Taaffe concert benefits Sweet Tree Arts, March 27

    CAMDEN — Brendan Taaffe house concert will be held for the benefit of Sweet Tree Arts, Wednesday, March 27, at 6:30 p.m., at Barren’s Distillery and Restaurant, in Camden.

    A multi-instrumentalist on guitar, fiddle, banjo, and mbira, Brendan Taaffe has toured with many different groups, including nationally acclaimed dance band Magic Foot and the internationally acclaimed vocal ensemble Northern Harmony. In addition to performing solo, he currently directs The Bright Wings Chorus, a vocal ensemble, and is the frontman of The New Line, a band that blends mbira with banjo, electric guitar, and percussion, creating a bridge between American and African traditions.

    “This event is a family friendly fundraiser for Sweet Tree Arts & School and an opportunity to see an accomplished and unique musician in a cozy setting at Barren’s Distillery and Restaurant in Camden,” said Sweet Trees, in a news release. 

    The evening begins 5:30-6:30 p.m. with light homemade food (included in ticket price), drinks from Barren’s available for purchase, and a raffle.

    Live music by Brendan Taaffe begins at 6:30 p.m.

    Tickets at the door: Adult - $20, Under 18 - $5
