Winslow football blanks Medomak Valley

WALDOBORO — The Winslow varsity football team came to Waldoboro on Saturday, Oct. 13 to challenge the Medomak Valley Panthers and left the area with a 35-0 victory. 

With the loss, Medomak Valley fell to 3-4 on the season. The Panthers will look to finish the season with a .500 winning percentage when they hit the road to Rockport to challenge Camden Hills on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 1:30 p.m.

In the Oct. 13 contest, Winslow scored 28 points in the second quarter and added an additional touchdown with less than a minute left in the game. 

Captaining the Medomak Valley offense were Eli Miller (52 yards rushing), Drew Severson (44 yards rushing, 21 yards receiving) and Colvin Standring (10 yards). 

Captaining the Medomak Valley defense were Severson (seven tackles), Dakota Nutter (seven tackles, assist), Brian Pollard (six tackles, two assists), Jacob Weston (four tackles, two assists, interception) and Miller (four tackles, two assists). 

Medomak Valley head coach Ryan Snell noted the Panthers “moved the ball at times” but were plagued by turnovers “in muddy conditions” and a pair of big fourth down conversions by Winslow.
