Waterville football bests Medomak Valley

WATERVILLE — The Medomak Valley varsity football team hit the road Friday, Sept. 28 to challenge Waterville and returned home with a 34-6 loss. 

With the loss, the Panthers dropped to 2-3 on the season. 

Medomak Valley will travel to Belfast Friday, Oct. 5 for its next contest, which will start at 7 p.m. 

In the Friday showdown, Waterville held a 13-6 advantage at the half. 

Medomak Valley was captained on offense by Drew Severson (63 yards rushing), Eli Miller (34 yards rushing, passing touchdown) and Brian Pollard (touchdown reception). Miller and Pollard connected on a 15 yard pass. 

Racking up defensive statistics for the Panthers were Erik Benner (eight tackles), Pollard (seven tackles), Severson (six tackles), Dakota Nutter (six tackles), Jacob Weston (six tackles), Garrett French (sack) and Gabe Shellman (interception). 

Jack Thompson collected 129 rushing yards and two touchdowns for Waterville, while Nick Wildhabers added 130 yards and three touchdowns.
