BELFAST — “The Belfast Free Library and the Office of the Belfast Poet Laureate want you to celebrate the Year of the Dragon and National Poetry Month,” said BFL, in a news release.

Waldo County children and teens are invited to write poems on the theme of bravery, courage, and resilience.

Include your name, grade/age, school and contact information in your submission. Prizes will be awarded to winners and runners-up in different age categories. To submit your poems, or for more information, write to: sholman@belfastlibrary.org.

The deadline date for poem submission is April 19, 2024. 

A reception and reading (where all are invited to read their work) will be held on April 30, from 3:30-4:30 p.m., in the Abbott Room of the Belfast Free Library, 106 High Street, Belfast.
