CAMDEN — Vicki Doudera, former Camden Conservation Commission member, local author, realtor, and current State Representative, has announced her reelection campaign for House District 41.

“This area has been my home for close to forty years. I love my friends and neighbors, and I will continue to work as hard as I can in Augusta for the people of our towns,” said Doudera.

Doudera and her husband, Ed, a retired local attorney, have owned several local businesses, starting with The Blackberry Inn which they opened in 1986.

“As a mother, grandmother, and former business owner, my focus in the Legislature has been on boosting our small businesses, creating resiliency for coastal towns in the face of climate change, and helping Maine families to thrive,” said Doudera, in a news release.

Her experience as a realtor with Camden Real Estate Company and longtime board member and past president of Midcoast Habitat for Humanity have led Doudera to push for legislation promoting affordable housing solutions, as well as gun violence prevention. She is the founder of the legislature’s Gun Safety Caucus and championed a bill in her second term to keep children safe from loaded guns in their homes. Her bill became law in 2021.

Rep. Doudera is currently in her third term in the Maine House of Representatives, and serves on both the Marine Resources and Environment & Natural Resources committees.

“Vicki is making such a positive impact for our district,” said longtime Camden resident Maureen Gordon, in the release. “Not only with the legislation she works so hard on, but also with the much-needed spirit of openness and compromise that she brings to Maine politics.”
