    Midcoast Ballet presents the classic ballet comedy ‘Coppelia’, the story of a beautiful life-like doll that is mistaken for a real girl, April 7 at 2 p.m., at Midcoast Strong, 143 Maverick St. in Rockland. 

    It is the story of a beautiful, life-like doll that is mistaken for a real girl. It was first performed in 1870 to the music of Leo Delibes.  It is directed by Julie Fajardo, who performed with Boston Ballet and Les Grands Ballets Canadiens in Montreal and has taught for Boston Ballet, Walnut Hill, Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre and Jacob’s Pillow.  Guest artists from the Portland Ballet will join local area dance students and teachers in the performance.  Tickets are $10 and must be reserved in advance by calling 781-697-0900
