CAMDEN — Last January, the First Congregational Church of Camden unveiled a new series of weekly lunchtime gatherings called Cake and Community. An entirely volunteer-driven effort, Cake and Community has become a social gathering hub for citizens seeking conversation and companionship during the bleak months of the year. 

Originally scheduled to run through March 27, 2024, Cake and Community will be extended for four more Wednesdays: April 3 through April 24, from noon to 1 p.m. in the church’s Pilgrim Room. Each week a team of volunteers host the gathering, providing dessert and hot beverages. Attendees are encouraged to take lunch if they wish. 

All are welcome to join Cake and Community this spring.
