Carver Memorial Library, Friends of Sears Island to hold eco book discussion

SEARSPORT — Friends of Sears Island and the Carver Memorial Library are cosponsoring an environmental-themed book discussion in honor of Earth Day.

During the month of April, participants can read the selected book, The Story of More: How We Got to Climate Change and Where to Go from Here, by Hope Jahren, and then join in a discussion on Tuesday, May 7, from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m., at Carver Memorial Library in Searsport, led by community volunteer Steve Alspach.

This book has a companion edition for young adults with the same title as well.

“We would love to have some youth participants to make this an all ages event,” said Friends of Sears Island, in a news release.

To register, please email staff@carverlibrary.org, as meeting space for the group is limited at the library. Copies of the book will be available to borrow from the library, at 12 Union Street in Searsport. Anodyne Book Shop located at 33 E Main Street in Searsport will also have some copies available for purchase.
