Waldo County Sheriff’s beat: black ice, violating protective order, theft

    BELFAST — The Waldo County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity Feb. 27 - March 15. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt. 

    Feb. 27

    Mark A. Fuller, 39, of Knox, was issued a summons for possessing an open alcohol container on a public way on Town House Road in Swanville.

    March 2

    Deputy Cassandra McDonald responded to the scene of a single-vehicle accident on North Main Street in Morrill where an operator traveling northbound hit a patch of black ice and lost control of the vehicle. The driver was able to correct the vehicle, a 1999 Ford, but then hit the shoulder of the road causing the vehicle to roll over where it came to rest upside down in the road. The operator sustained a possible injury to the beck and the vehicle was towed.  

    Deputy David Wight responded to the scene of a single-vehicle accident on Lebanon Road in Winterport where an operator traveling westbound hit a patch of black ice causing the vehicle to lose traction and spin to the right, leaving the roadway to the left. The vehicle, a 2005 GMC, rolled over after hitting the soft shoulder landing on its roof and was towed from the scene. The driver was uninjured.

    Wight responded to the scene of a single-vehicle accident on North Main Street in Winterport, where a northbound operator hit a patch of black ice and lost control of their vehicle. The vehicle crossed the centerline before leaving the roadway to the left and hitting a group of small trees. The vehicle, a 1995 Jeep, was towed from the scene. The driver was uninjured.

    Wight responded to the scene of a single-vehicle accident on Airport Road in Winterport where a northbound operator hit a patch of black ice and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle crossed the centerline before the driver was able to steer the vehicle back toward the right, where it then left the roadway and rolled onto the driver side. The vehicle, a 2004 Dodge, was towed and the driver was uninjured.

    March 3

    A Winterport minor was issued a summons for theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.

    Angela Taylor, 22, of Lincolnville, was issued summonses for operating without a license (beyond condition/restriction) and an inspection sticker violation on Route 52 in Lincolnville.

    March 10

    James C. Hustus, 42, of Bucksport, was issued summonses for unauthorized use of property and criminal trespass on Curtis Road in Swanville. 

    March 14

    Richard McKay, 57, of Winterport was arrested for violating conditions of release and violation of a protection from abuse order on Marsh Stream Road in Frankfort. 

    Miranda A. Parsons, 25, of Lincolnville, was issued a summons for operating after suspension on Belfast Road in Lincolnville. 

    March 15

    Mark M. Ross, 34, of Searsport, was issued a summons for operating after suspension on Bangor Road in Prospect.
