Waldo County Sheriff’s beat: accidents, criminal speed

    BELFAST — The Waldo County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity July 25 - Aug. 3. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt.

    July 25

    Deputy Cassandra McDonald responded to the scene of a two vehicle accident on Route 1 where the operator of one vehicle failed to see the vehicle ahead of them slowing to turn, resulting in a collision. The operator of a 2017 Dodge had slowed to turn right onto Muskrat Farm Road when the vehicle was struck from behind. The operator of that vehicle, a 2013 Chevy, was reportedly distracted by a portable radio and failed to see the vehicle ahead of them had slowed. The operator of the Chevy sustained possible injuries, and the vehicle was towed from the scene. The operator and passenger of the other vehicle were uninjured and the vehicle sustained functional damage.

    July 26

    Harold B. Braley, 46, of Morrill, was arrested for disorderly conduct and refusing to submit to arrest or detention on Route 3 in Belmont.

    Deputy Cassandra McDonald responded to the scene of a single vehicle accident on Back Brooks Road in Monroe, where the trailer of a three axle truck became caught on telephone wires. The wires were crossing the road at the Brown Road intersection and were dragged for roughly a quarter of a mile before the driver noticed the wires. The 1998 vehicle sustained minor damage and the operator was uninjured.

    July 28

    Alexander J. Shyduroff, 33, of Brooks, was issued a summons for criminal speed on Route 7 in Brooks.

    Susan J. Christinziano, 54, of Wells, was issued a summons for criminal speed on Route 3 in Palermo.

    July 29

    Deputy Daniel Thompson responded to the scene of a two vehicle accident on Mount View Road in Thorndike, where one vehicle rear-ended another. The operator of a 2015 Toyota failed to notice the vehicle ahead of them slowing to make a left hand turn, causing them to strike the rear of the vehicle, which then spun off the road and into a private driveway. The operator was reportedly trying to put down their sun visor and failed to see the other vehicle had slowed. The driver of that vehicle, a 1997 Toyota, sustained possible injury in the crash. The driver of the 2015 Toyota was uninjured, and both vehicles were towed from the scene.

    Aug. 1

    Nicole Carbisiero, 32, of Stockton Springs, was issued a summons for operating after suspension on Northport Avenue in Belfast.
