CAMDEN — Friday afternoon was one glorious weather day in the Midcoast, making for a seriously pleasant time to sit alongside the harbor and watch the action as schooners made their to the head of Camden Harbor, and tied up at the town docks.

Today was the first day of the 2014 Camden Windjammer Festival, and Saturday and Sunday have plenty of activities lined up.

For more information about what’s happening, click here. Or better yet, just head down to the harbor and go with the flow. There is absolutely nothing wrong with spending this weekend in Camden, wandering around, enjoying the bevy of competitions and exhibitors set up on the public landing.

The restaurants and shops will be busy, and traffic through town will be slow, but it’s Labor Day weekend, and we really wouldn’t want it any other way. Oh, and if that wasn’t enough, the National Weather Service has now called off the showers predicted earlier for Sunday...we know, we feel your pain. It’s tough being in Maine this time of year, what with all the things to do and the beautiful weather and all.

Stop by the PenBayPilot.com booth on the waterfront, where we will be posting stories and photo galleries throughout the weekend. You can also pick up a free copy the new Wave magazine there.
