PenBayPilot.com employs new app for sports scores

Tue, 07/11/2017 - 7:45pm

After carefully reviewing the current method of how we provide readers with timely score updates, we have decided to team up with ScoreStream to provide a cleaner and more efficient way to provide them.

ScoreStream "aim[s] to empower fans, schools, teams, and media companies with the tools to provide accurate, real-time sports coverage," according to their website, which is what attracted us to them.

Not able to make it to a game? Catch yourself constantly texting updates to family and friends who couldn't make the game? Looking for live updates on a rival team? Not only will you be able to better rely on our scoreboard pages to provide that information, but you can also follow along on the free ScoreStream app available on iOS and Android devices.

On the app, you can even share photos and post score updates to social media. By using the ScoreStream app, your score updates will automatically load onto our scoreboard page helping other fans follow their favorite teams. Click here to view a demo of how the app works on an iPhone and here for how the app works on an Android.

Below is a sample of how our new scoreboards will look when built into the page. The move to using ScoreStream will begin when the school sports season resumes in August.

We are excited for the future of our scoreboard pages and hope you will help us provide the very best score updates for all the teams in our coverage area.

If you have thoughts you would like to share, we would love to hear them. Send them in an email to us at sports@penbaypilot.com.
