Oceanside baseball, softball fall to Hermon

ROCKLAND — The Oceanside varsity baseball and softball teams hosted Hermon on Thursday, May 10. 

In baseball, Hermon (6-3) was able to squeak past Oceanside (7-2) by a score of 6-5. 

In softball, Hermon (7-2) was able to knock off Oceanside (7-2) by a score of 4-1. 

Baseball: Hermon 6, Oceanside 5

Oceanside plated two runs in the first inning, one in the sixth and two in the seventh while committing four errors and collecting six hits. 

Hermon plated one run in the second and sixth innings in addition to four runs in the seventh. Hermon collected nine hits and committed three errors. 

At the plate for Hermon were Keith Pomeroy (two singles), Garrett Trask (two singles), Adam Rush (single, home run) and Nate Allain (two singles). 

At the plate for Oceanside were Logan Sheridan (Oceanside) and Titus Kaewthong (two singles, two-run home run). 

Jacques LeBonte tossed a complete game for Hermon, walking three and fanning eight. 

Sheridan worked the mound for Oceanside and walked one batter while striking out three. 

Softball: Hermon 4, Oceanside 1

Hermon plated four runs in the sixth inning, while Oceanside plated its lone run in the seventh. 

Hermon collected seven hits while committing two errors. Oceanside collected two hits and committed three errors. 

In the pitcher’s circle for Hermon were Katie Windsor (five innings, six strikeouts, hit-by-pitch) and Bre Oakes (two innings, two strikeouts). 

Chloe Jones worked the pitcher’s circle for Oceanside and fanned six batters. 

Laura Zenk collected a single and double for Hermon, while Hannah Moholland (single) and Kallie Grover (double) collected the only hits for Oceanside.
