Dave Miramant sworn into first term in Maine Senate

    AUGUSTA — Democratic State Senator David Miramant, of Camden, was sworn in Dec. 3, as a member of the Maine Senate. Miramant, who is replacing former legislator Ed Mazurek, will be representing Senate District 12, which includes the municipalities and unorganized territories of Appleton, Camden, Criehaven Township, Cushing, Friendship, Hope, Isle au Haut, Matinicus Isle Plantation, Muscle Ridge Islands Township, North Haven, Owls Head, Rockland, Rockport, South Thomaston, St. George, Thomaston, Union, Vinalhaven and Warren.

    “It is an honor to serve in the State Senate,” said Miramant, in a news release. “I am proud of our local communities and pledge to work hard for the people, businesses, and interests of our region.”

    Miramant is a local small business owner and pilot. Before being elected to the Senate, he served in the Maine House of Representatives from 2006-2008 and on the Camden Select Board from 2000-2003.

    The 127th Legislature will begin its session work Jan. 7.
