Camden Hills ties with Mount Ararat in Class A showdown

TOPSHAM — Ben Owre put the Camden Hills boys soccer team on top six minutes into the KVAC Class A contest in Topsham against Mount Ararat Friday, Sept. 15 with Will Nickerson picking up an assist.

Dalton Streeter would tie the game after the Eagles were awarded a penalty kick with 15 minutes remaining in the opening half.

The score would remain knotted at one after a complete game and two five minute overtimes.

Lucas Boetsch made 15 saves on 16 shots tending the Windjammer net while his counterpart Gavin Patterson would make eight saves on nine Windjammer shots.

"I was extremely proud of the way we played tonight,” Camden Hills head coach Ryan Hurley said. “The effort level and passion was outstanding. We competed the entire game and everyone really stepped up. If we continue with this level of effort we'll be a force to be reckoned with come October."
