Mon, 05/21/2018 - 11:15am

ROCKPORT — The Camden Hills field hockey program will be hosting summer clinics this summer for girls in kindergarten through 12th grades.

The clinics will run Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 26 to July 26 and will be directed by Camden Hills varsity field hockey head coach Lindsey Clement, who will be assisted by high school and middle school coaches, in addition to current and former players.

Those in kindergarten through ninth grades, as well as any 10th-12th grader new to the sport, will participate from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Those in 10th-12th grades familiar with the sport, as well any adult, will participate in scrimmages from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

“Camden Hills Field Hockey is devoted to the development of young athletes in the Five Town community,” Clement said in a press release. “Through games and drills, we focus on skills, teamwork, communication, the development of smart decision-making, and having fun. Our youth group (K-5) begins with the fundamental basics of the sport while the middle school group (6-9) fine tunes skills and progresses to offensive and defensive strategy.”

Register online here or pick up a registration form in the school office at Lincolnville Central School, Appleton Village School, Hope Elementary School, Camden Rockport Middle School, and Camden Rockport Elementary School.

The cost is $20 per child if pre-registered and pre-paid by June 1, or $30 for walk-ons. Checks can be made payable to Camden Hills Field Hockey. Mail pre-payment to Camden Hills Field Hockey, 26 Graybrook Lane, Union, ME 04862.

Equipment needed includes sticks, shinguard, mouth guard, water, and cleats. Sticks can be borrowed at the clinics on a first come, first serve basis.
