Belfast, Me. – Cornerspring Montessori School students recently presented a check to The Game Loft for $1,231.90 in support of their organization and youth programs. 

Each year Cornerspring Montessori School chooses an organization to sponsor as part of its curriculum of teaching students about community giving and service. Developing a deep sense of compassion and social responsibility in our students supports the mission of Cornerspring. Students discuss organizations they feel need the support most or that they have a heartfelt connection with.  This year the children felt strongly about supporting two organizations in need of funding; The Game Loft and Maine Horse Equine. 

The children began planning several fundraisers to take place throughout the Spring.  They organized a bake sale, and collected pledges for both a game-a-thon and Olympics held at the school.  Thanks to the efforts of the students and the support of families, friends and the Cornerspring community,  the students were able to raise $2,463.80 to be split between both organizations.
