BELFAST — The Waldo County Pie & Story Festival celebrated its 11th year Sunday, Oct. 14, when pie enthusiasts converged on the Belfast Boathouse.

With anyone able to bring a pie to enter into the competition, there were dozens of pies present at the event. With tables formed into a U shape and a spectrum of pies arranged atop them, it was only after some initial storytelling and pie-auctioning that attendants were invited to line up for their chance to snap up both sweet and savory slices.

The pies in attendance stood to win prizes in one of four categories, including Best Pie Ever, Most Beautiful Pie, Most Unusual Pie, and Yummy Mess. Ballots were given after buying your chosen piece(s) of pie, at $1 per piece.

In addition to more pie-centric activities, the festival also featured free music and stories, and a number of special guests.
