BELFAST — While the first trick-or-treaters could be spotted around 4 p.m. in Belfast, it wasn’t until an hour later that one popular street was completely inundated by trick-or-treaters in an incredible array of costumes.

One Cedar Street resident said anywhere from 1,000-1,500 trick-or-treaters walk the street every Halloween, with many of the homes decorated for the occasion. Many homeowners were camped in front of their homes, decked out in their own spooky attire and clutching giant baskets of candy.

Costumes ranged from well-known characters to old-timey outfits, witches, and an inflatable dinosaur or two; there was even a glow in the dark jellyfish lighting up the darkness as she made her way through the crowded streets.

With many Cedar Street residents as into Halloween as the hoards of children that descend upon their homes each year, it’s no surprise that this year’s trick-or-treating was met with smiles and laughter on both sides.
