Ash Point Beach. Ash Point Drive, Rockland. Small sand and rock beach with great views of the Gulf of Maine. Limited parking, no lifeguard and no facilities.

Barrett Cove Beach. Camden. At the east end of the lake, just three miles from the harbor and the ocean, is Barrett’s Cove Beach, a beautiful spot for swimming and picnicking that is rarely crowded. The beach has a designated swimming area and a shallow area for children. A diving platform floats offshore.

Belfast City Park. Belfast. At the mouth of Belfast Bay, the rocky beach at City Park is good for exploring and beachcombing, or wading and swimming at high tide. The park has a swimming pool, playground, food concession, basketball, tennis, horseshoes and other recreation.

Birch Point Beach State Park. Hogan Road, OwlsHead. Protected scenic stretch of sand located in Owls Head on your way to Rockland with great views of the ocean and islands. This beautiful Maine State Park offers parking, a generous sandy beach (also known as Lucia Beach) and picnic area, with restroom facilities. No lifeguards.

Cals Beach. Northport

Cresent Beach. Owls Head -  This crescent shaped beach is another beautiful beach near Owls Head, though lined with beach cottages and not as private as Birch Point State Park, it offers the largest salt water sand beach in the area. Limited public parking, but if you score a space, sweet.

Damariscotta Lake. Damariscotta Lake is a large freshwater lake with a sandy beach at its northern end in Jefferson.

Drift Inn Beach. Port Clyde. This is a nice beach between Martinsville and Port Clyde, not far away from the Marshall Point Lighthouse. It's a great place for swimming, picnicing, exploring or a nice walk.

Ellis Pond. Brooks. A secluded swimming spot, located off Route 203 (Pond Road) in Brooks.

Glen Cove Beach. Glen Cove, Rockport. A small saltwater sand beach great for swimming at high tide and at low tide you can search the mud flats for all the mysteries of the ocean.

Goodie's Beach. Rockport Marine Park. Rockport. A small, sandy beach right on the harbor. Jump off the wharf at high tide or wade in at low tide. Fun and friendly.

Head Beach. Head Beach in Phippsburg is part of the family-owned and operated Head Beach Campground and Cottages.

Johnson Memorial Park. Rockland. An easy on/easy off, family friendly beach on the west side of Chickawaukie Pond. Lots of parking, restrooms, changing rooms, grills for cookouts and a boat launch.

Laite Beach. Bay View Street, Camden. Laite Memorial Beach is a small beach on Camden Harbor just a short walk from town. Great views of Camden Harbor, hills and Penobscot Bay. Great for swimming, with a picnic area and grills, a playground and restrooms.

Lincolnville Beach. Lincolnville. Scenic Lincolnville Beach stretches for a half mile just off Route 1 in the village of the same name. Restaurants, gift stores, rest rooms and great sand beach.

Pemaquid Beach Park. Route 130, Pemaquid. Beautiful quarter mile beach of sand, with a nice breeze overlooking John's Bay.

Popham Beach State Park. Perkins Farm Road, Phippsburg. Three-mile long sand beach encompassing 529 acres at the mouth of the Kennebec River. Sandbars and tidal pools at low tide. Bathhouses, freshwater showers, picnic area with grills, trails and wildlife watching. 



Reid State Park. Seguinland Road, Georgetown. One and a half miles of sand in three distinct beach sections. Choose from surf to protected swimming areas better suited for small children. Reid Beach facilities include changing and restrooms, cold showers, grills and picnic areas, and parking.

Sanborn Pond. Brooks. No frills, just pull over and swim. Located off the westbound land of Route 137 (Waterville Road).



Sandy Point Beach. Stockton Springs

Shirt Tail Point. Camden. A small but nice freshwater swimming area located on Megunticook Lake in Camden. Good play area for the kids, shallow and sandy makes it a great place to take the kids.

Spragues Beach. Islesboro

Swan Lake State Park. Swanville.This WPA-era state park at the north end of Swan Lake includes a sandy beach and with a gentle grade making it ideal for young children. Restrooms and a playground are just off the beach. Admission to the park is $4.00 for adult Maine residents, $6.00 for non-residents and $2.00 for seniors.
