FRANKFORT —  On February 11, 2019, at 1 p.m., the Waldo County Communication Center received a 911 report of a motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles on Route 1A in the town of Frankfort.

Deputy James Porter and Sergeant Cody Laite responded to the scene along with personnel from both the Frankfort and West Frankfort fire departments.

The investigation of the accident determined that Amy Adriance, 40, of Winterport, was traveling north on Route 1A in a 2011 Kia. After passing a tractor trailer Adriance drifted off the right side of the road and when she overcorrected, according to a Waldo County Sheriff’s Office news release. Adriance then traveled across the center line into oncoming traffic, where she struck a 2018 Dodge pickup truck operated by Wendy Fowler, 51, of Belfast.

Winterport Ambulance transported both individuals, with what appeared to be serious but not life threatening injuries, to Northern Lights Hospital in Bangor, according to the news release.

Both vehicles were considered a total loss and the operators were the sole occupant in both vehicles.
