What is pain? Massage therapist to provide suggestions in Lincolnville, Jan. 31

Event has passed

LINCOLNVILLE — Solomon Speigel is a massage therapist, blacksmith, and furniture maker in the Midcoast. He will discuss pain in more detail Wednesday, January 31, at 6 p.m., at the Lincolnville Community Library, 208 Main Street, Lincolnville Center.

Everyone has experienced pain at some point in their life. Usually, it’s from a small bump or bruise that you can ignore or push through. But sometimes it’s so painful you have to stop to cope with the pain, or lasts so long it becomes chronic and possibly never goes away.

Does that mean it’s a more serious injury? Sometimes it does, but not always. It is possible to have a small papercut that hurts more and for longer than a big bruise or even a slipped disc.

Pain can be confusing to understand, and it can too easily become chronic and debilitating. But what exactly is pain, and what are some things you can do that might help? This presentation will offer some best practice suggestions and answer all your questions.

As a massage therapist, Speigel uses manual therapy, massage, and acupressure to work towards resolving an issue. Issues he works on vary from injury rehab, to movement restrictions, to emotional and physical traumas. If you would like to know more about Speigel, check out his website or contact his directly: Website: www.HandsandHammer.com, Email: Solo@Handsandhammer.com.

This presentation is free and open to the public.
