Waldoboro Police beat: Theft, accidents, burglary at sandwich shop

    WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 136 calls for service from Jan. 8-13. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

    Jan. 8                        

    Steven Ward, Jr., 43, of Warren, was issued a summons by Officer Justin Hills for operating after suspension.

    Jan. 9                                                 

    Chief John Lash is investigating a report from a laundromat that someone damaged the business’ door.  

    Lash investigated an accident on the Ralph Wink Road at 1:13 p.m. Tyler Larue, 17, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2007 Dodge utility vehicle. Larue was traveling eastbound following the roadway and exceeded the posted speed limit. His went off the roadway, causing damage to the vehicle. Injuries were listed for a passenger, Marshall Sawyer.

    Tyler Larue, 17, of Waldoboro, was issued as summons by Lash for operating without a license.

    Jan. 10                                               

    Officer Jeffery Fuller is investigating a report from Subway about a burglary.                 

    Amber Chaisty, 27, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Sgt. Jamie Wilson for criminal mischief.

    Fuller is investigating a report from a citizen about stolen money.

    Jan. 11

    Fuller is investigating a report from a citizen about the possible theft of fuel oil.

    Wilson investigated an accident on Main Street at 5:49 p.m. Sherrie Hannan, 58, of Damariscotta, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet sedan. Hannan was traveling westbound on Main Street. A deer ran into the roadway and the operator was unable to avoid it. Hannan struck the deer causing front end damage. No injuries were reported.

    Jan. 13

    Kenneth Dunn, 33, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Hills for uninspected motor vehicle.
