Waldoboro Police beat: Drug possession, accidents, stolen generator

    WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 128 calls for service from Sept. 11-18 Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

    Sept. 11

    Judith Grant, 75, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Officer Jeffery Fuller for harassment.

    Sept. 12                                              

    Officer Thomas Bartunek investigated an accident on the Atlantic Highway at 4:39 p.m. Jeffrey Lenfestey, 40, of Warren, was driving a 2016 Jeep utility vehicle. James Erskine, 76, of Jefferson, was driving a 2002 Ford utility vehicle. Cheri Alexander, 54, of Boothbay, was driving a 2011 Ford sedan. Lenfestey was traveling eastbound, following the roadway and following too closely. Erskine was traveling eastbound, making a left turn. Alexander was traveling westbound, following the roadway. Injuries were reported.

    Sept. 13       

    Judith Grant, 75, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons for Bartunek for criminal trespass. Fuller is investigating a report of stolen clothing from a citizen.

    Sept. 14

    Fuller investigated an accident at the Atlantic Highway/Winslows Mills/Kalers Corner intersection. Dorothy Sprague, 91, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2005 Buick utility vehicle. Leroy Brown, 57, of Nobleboro, was driving a 2004 Toyota pickup. Sprague failed to yield the right of way to Brown, pulling out from Kalers Corner and striking a hay trailer that Brown was towing. Sprague struck the front of the trailer and became entangled and came to rest against the guardrails on the northbound lane. Injuries were reported.

    Sept. 16       

    Donald Prior, 45, of Bremen, was issued a summons by Fuller for unlawful possession of scheduled drugs. Officer Justin Hills is investigating a report of a stolen generator from a citizen.

    Sept. 17       

    Bartunek investigated an accident on the Winslows Mills Road at 5:16 p.m. Elizabeth White, of Friendship, was driving a 2010 Chevrolet utility vehicle. Jeffrey Daniello, 60, of Spruce Head, was driving a 2011 Ford sedan. White was traveling southbound, following the roadway.  A dog ran into the roadway and White struck the dog, causing dog to strike Daniello’s vehicle, who was northbound following the roadway.
