Waldo County Sheriff’s beat: accidents, OUI, assault

    BELFAST — The Waldo County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity Feb. 4-16. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt.

    Feb. 4

    Trooper Cassandra McDonald responded to the scene of a single-vehicle accident that went off the road after traveling too fast for the wintery conditions. The 2008 Chevrolet, which was traveling on Belfast Road in Knox, sustained minor damage in the accident and the driver was uninjured.

    Feb. 9

    Dylan J. Drinkwater, 18, of Belfast, was issued summonses for possession of liquor by a minor via consumption and operating without a license on Waterville Road in Belfast.

    Sergeant Cody Laite responded to the scene of a single-vehicle accident on Route 173 in Searsmont, where a northbound vehicle failed to negotiate a turn to the right. The vehicle exited the roadway and entered a snow-covered ditch, sustaining minor damage to the front end. After an intoxilyzer showed the driver’s blood alcohol content as .14 percent, they were arrested and charged with operating under the influence.

    Feb. 10

    Michael J. Nichols, 22, of Lincolnville, was arrested for operating under the influence on Route 173 in Searsmont.

    Feb. 15

    Joseph L. McBride, 29, of Waldo, was arrested for domestic violence assault and disorderly conduct on Hall Hill Road in Waldo.
