A Unity man has been arrested in connection with the state’s fourth meth lab of the year.

On Monday evening, March 5, MDEA agents from the Midcoast District Task Force and the Waldo Sheriff’s Office searched the home of Thomas Heaberlin, 35, of 16 Fisher Road, in Unity.

Earlier in the day, agents conducted surveillance of Heaberlin as he returned to his residence after allegedly purchasing the ingredients used to manufacture meth, according to a news release from the Maine State Police.

During the search agents found a concealed room within the home and evidence inside of meth-making, including 10 one-pot labs that Heaberlin had used to cook up the meth, police said.

Heaberlin was arrested without incident for Unlawful Operation of a Methamphetamine Laboratory (Class B) and transported to the Waldo County Jail.  Bail was set at $100 cash.

The Maine Department of Environmental Protection assisted by taking possession of the toxic byproducts of methamphetamine production.
