Union’s Julianna Blake finishes second in regional Pitch, Hit and Run competition
BOSTON — Union resident Julianna Blake traveled to Boston to compete in the regional finals of the Pitch, Hit and Run series.
The event is a free baseball and softball skills challenge that allows youngsters to showcase their talents in pitching, hitting and running with scores determined by individual performances in each skills event. The competition includes pitching at a target, hitting balls from a fixed tee for distance and accuracy, and running for timed score.
Blake won the seven and eight year old girls division in Waldoboro in late May and won the age group’s sectional competition in Bangor earlier this month.
At the regional finals at Fenway Park in Boston this past weekend, she finished in second place.
