BELFAST — A man and woman have been arrested in connection with a robbery and stabbing that occurred in Belfast June 13, according to a press release from Belfast Police Chief Robert Cormier.

After appealing to the public for assistance to help identify two suspects related to the case, arrests were made June 14.

Justin Wilmot, 20, of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, was arrested and charged with aggravated attempted murder, elevated aggravated assault, armed robbery, and falsifying physical evidence. Isabella Noui, 19, also of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, was arrested and charged with armed robbery, criminal conspiracy, and falsifying physical evidence.

Police were able to locate the duo in Bangor, after following up on tips and leads. After obtaining a search warrant, Belfast detectives were able to recover the victim’s property, wallet, and the knife allegedly used in the attack, according to Cormier’s release. Bangor Police assisted with serving the investigation.

Wilmot and Noui were both transferred to Belfast for further questioning, where they were ultimately arrested.

Both Wilmot and Noui are being held at Waldo County General Jail without bail. They have a scheduled court date June, and Cormier wrote he anticipates they will be arraigned when courts open next week. Courts are closed Monday June 19, in observance of Juneteenth, which means the pair will likely be arraigned Tuesday, June 20.
