true friends listen, support, give calm advice, want others to do well

Thomaston Grammar students recognized for friendship

THOMASTON — Several students were recognized for the attribute of Friendship at a Thomaston Grammar School assembly, Friday, Jan. 25.

An unknown author wrote the following: “Good friends are like stars. You don’t see them, but you know they’re always there for you.”

The students that were recognized are true friends because they listen and support others. They are selfless and make time for peers no matter the situation, big or small. They give a helping hand with projects or are there to be a listening ear when someone is upset. They are the ones to talk to when something is bothering a peer because they give good calming advice. They look out for others, wanting them to do their best, and they are excited when others excel.

Brayden Shirey was also presented with the Principal’s Award. Brayden is a student who cares about others above himself. He is an excellent example of a kind, compassionate, empathetic student who cares deeply about his school community. He quietly and consistently does the right thing, always. He tries his best at everything that he does, and always strives to improve.

Congratulations to all the students that received awards this month!
