Sandra Richards Hall, obituary

ROCKPORT —Sandra Hall, age 83, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at the Sussman House in Rockport. Born in Camden on July 5, 1935, she was the daughter of Louise and Paul Jones.

She was a 1952 graduate of Union High School. She married her husband James Hall on July 5, 1953 and they were married for 60 years.

For almost 30 years, she worked with children with special needs at the Henderson School, South School in Rockland and the Life Skills Program.

Sandy’s passion in life was her 5 children and their families. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and teacher of children of special needs. During her teaching years and beyond, she participated in many winter and summer Special Olympic Games. The faculty and students considered her as “the most enthusiastic coach ever.” In 2006, the year she retired, she was awarded the #1 coach on the student athlete plaque. On their annual Hurricane Island trip in May, she led the group jumping into the ocean. Sandy also enjoyed participating in the white water rafting trips with her “kids.”

Sandy was a devoted mother to her children; Timothy and Mary Hall of Northport, Marcia and Rich Roberts of Lincolnville, Peter and Lisa Hall of Thomaston, Jeffery and Linda Hall of Warren, Laurie and Marty Richard of Texas. She dearly cherished her grandchildren; Kate Hall, Shannan Hall, Shean Hall, Ben and Lisa Spooner, Abby and Carm Ferrante, Ryan and Lacy Hall, Tyler and Susan Hall, Heather Hall and Charles Fracchia, Taylor Hall, John Hall, JJ Dennis and Samantha Jennings, great grandchildren; Adilyn, Maizey, Sydney, Ava, Wyatt and Juniper.

Sandy was predeceased by Jim Hall, her loving and devoted husband, she is survived by one brother, Victor Richards.

A private Celebration of her Life will be held at the convenience of the family.
