BELFAST — Maine Integrative Wellness Center officially opened its doors with a ribbon cutting ceremony last Friday, June 7.  Dr. Tamara Kennard, owner of Maine Integrative Chiropractic and visionary of the Wellness Center, spoke of this dream coming true after 10 years in the making, according to a news release.

The lower level of Maine Integrative Chiropractic had sat empty until 2016 when the renovations brought a fresh new look and calming environment. The hope was to create a space that brought together alternative healing practitioners.

The Wellness Center did just that, now housing a Naturopathic doctor, 4 massage therapist, reflexology, cranial sacral, Reiki, meditation and energy healing. They encourage interested parties to visit their website at mywellnessctr.com for more information. The Wellness center allows people to receive the care they need in one unique location.

The event started off with speeches and the official ribbon cutting by Kennard – “Dr. Tam” – assisted by Steve Ryan of the Chamber of Commerce, and Cathy Reynolds and Ellie Flagg from Bangor Savings.

Dr. Tam introduced her chiropractic team and welcomed Dr. Evan Phillips, recently joining the practice. Each practitioner spoke describing their technique and their gratitude for having such a wonderful healing space to work in.

The crowd was able to walk through the building meeting each practitioner and then relax with food and beverages, and music from the band, Once Over

Kennard expressed her gratitude to all those who helped make this dream come true, the wonderful healthcare practitioners of Waldo County area and the patients/clients that requested it, according to the release.
