The Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce has announced a new partnership with JackRabbit Systems (a subsidiary of Simpleview) to offer live local lodging availability on the Chamber website at CamdenRockland.com.   Visitors to the site are now able to search for available lodging from the chamber’s 60 local lodging properties in Knox County and surrounding communities, according to a news release from the chamber.  Users will see average rates at each property for the dates they select, and can narrow their search using a variety of filtering options.

“This is a tremendous new resource that we are excited to offer to our lodging members and the traveling public,” said Tom Peaco, executive director of the chamber, in the release.  “This is another step forward in positioning the Camden-Rockland Region as the hub of a Maine Coast vacation.”

While this is a resource for those traveling to the area, local residents will also benefit from having a central source to search local lodging options for family and friends visiting the area, the chamber said.

To aid those seeking lodging once they have arrived in the region, the chamber will provide a dedicated laptop at each of its visitor centers in Camden and Rockland, with staff and volunteers poised to assist in using this new website feature.  Collectively, these two local visitor centers welcome nearly 25,000 visitors per year to the region.

The Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce serves as a primary business conduit for the Camden-Rockland Region, which encompasses 27 municipalities within and surrounding Knox County.  The chamber provides a variety of platforms and opportunities for 800 business and organization members to promote themselves to residents and visitors to the region.  To learn more, visit CamdenRockland.com or call 207-596-0376.
