BELFAST — On Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at 6 p.m., the Peace & Justice Forum/Waldo County will host another Circle for Peace and Resistance at the Belfast Free Library.

The group will gather to read excerpts from the “Gaza Monologues” written by young Palestinians in 2010 after another “war” on Gaza – in answer to a request from Ashtar Theatre in Palestine, for a global reading in Nov on the UN declared International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. The call and pdf. of monologues can be found at www.gazamonologues.com/.

“In solidarity with these young voices, we invite people to bring poems, words, songs, silence – whatever your heart wants to share, in this time of so much suffering,” said Meredith Bruskin, in a news release. “Sit together in circle, share or just listen, bring our energy for peace and determination to resist injustice together, along with our resilience and our grief.”

Please bring written copies of your share if possible, to ensure accessibility for all. Thank you.

All are welcome.
