Parkinson’s support group to present ‘humor therapy’ April 2
CAMDEN – Whether you’re coping with a chronic condition like Parkinson’s or just the temporary affliction known as winter, nothing lightens the load like a good laugh, and the next meeting of Camden’s Parkinson’s Support Group, set for Tuesday, April 2, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Anderson Inn at Quarry Hill, aims to prove the point.
During the first half of the April meeting, participants will forgo the usual informative presentation in favor of a little group “humor therapy,” gathering around Quarry Hill’s big-screen TV for an hour-long video marathon of some of the funniest film clips ever made.
Afterward, attendees will divide into smaller groups to discuss insights and perspectives.
The Camden Parkinson’s Support Group meets regularly at Quarry Hill on the first Tuesday of each month during the noon to 2 p.m. time slot, and participation is free of charge. Attendees are encouraged to bring bag lunches; Quarry Hill provides beverages and dessert.
During the winter months, support group meetings are cancelled whenever Camden public schools are closed due to inclement weather.
