BELFAST — Our Town Belfast (OTB) announced the hire of Sasha Breus as its marketing and events coordinator, effective March 6, 2019.

This new position will support ongoing efforts to sustain the successes downtown Belfast has witnessed in the past decade, said Zach Schmesser, Our Town Belfast's Executive Director, in a news release. “We were excited to select Sasha for this position,” he said. “She brings years of experience in communications and organization. Sasha’s role will help increase the impact of our mission to grow and sustain Belfast’s historic downtown while celebrating our unique cultural heritage.”

As marketing coordinator, Sasha is to share and promote the work of OTB, its partners, and downtown Belfast’s success stories with residents, visitors and other stakeholders. In the Events Coordinator role, Sasha will assist with new and established events that support downtown Belfast, such as OTB’s inaugural Restaurant Week, planned for April 22 through 28, 2019. Sasha is to also support and strengthen OTB’s volunteer base, and further develop the Partners Program, which connects local businesses with OTB.

Sasha has a geology degree from Smith College, and a master’s in environmental studies from Antioch University New England. Sasha also has a small consulting business which assists with nonprofit evaluations, developmental editing, and grant writing. Sasha moved back to Maine in Fall 2017, and is grateful for the opportunity to deepen her ties to the greater Belfast area as a staff member at OTB, and volunteer at The Game Loft.
