New Montessori-based Sunday School for Camden church

CAMDEN —  The First Congregational Church has recently implemented a new Montessori-based curriculum called Godly Play, according to a Church news release.

Godly Play is rooted in story, wonder, liturgy, discovery and joy as children seek and find the mystery of God's presence. It is an imaginative approach for working with children, an approach that supports, challenges, nourishes, and guides their spiritual quest.

The program is led up by Elizabeth Lally, the Chrisitian education director.

For more information, contact her at Elizabeth@camdenucc.org or read more about Godly Play at Godlyplayfoundation.org.

Sunday school for pre-K through ninth grade students runs from 8:45 to 9:30 a.m., just prior to the worship service.

Children are invited to join their families in the sanctuary for the service, or they can participate in supervised classroom activities as an alternative.

Nursery care for is also provided during worship.

Founded in 1805, The First Congregational Church of Camden is an Open and Affirming Congregation of the United Church of Christ.

Worship service is held every Sunday morning at 9:30 am, and all are welcome.

The congregation offers a number of outreach programs, including Heavenly Threads Thrift Shop, the Shields Mission, Soup’s On!, the Friends of Music concert series, among others.
