ROCKLAND — In a collaboration with the Coastal Recovery Community Center and Knox Clinic, New Hope Midocast will be facilitating an “In Her Shoes” activity on Monday, February 12, from 1 - 3 p.m., at the CRCC, 11 White Street, in Rockland.

“In Her Shoes” is an immersive activity based on the experiences of real individuals who have experienced domestic abuse. Facilitated by an educator from New Hope Midcoast, beginning with a brief introduction and some basic facts about domestic abuse. Participants are invited to take on a character, to adopt that person’s point of view, and walk “in their shoes” for the rest of the exercise.

This curriculum, designed like an immersive game, was produced by the Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence to help communities shift their thinking about domestic violence and evolve their practices around what it really means to support survivors, hold those who cause harm accountable, and envision a world where violence and abuse don’t flourish as they do now.
