New Domestic Violence Support Group forms in Belfast

Wed, 04/17/2019 - 11:15am

New Hope for Women will be offering a new Support Group for survivors of domestic violence in Belfast. The group will start in mid-May and will run for approximately eight weeks. This particular group is designed for female or female-identifying survivors of domestic violence who are currently in a relationship with an abusive and controlling partner, or for those who have left.

Each group session is 90 minutes in length and is limited to eight participants. Please note that this is not a therapy group, but rather an opportunity to share support, information and resources. Together, participants and the group facilitator follow a structured format to create a safe, healthy, and confidential environment in which to learn and engage in the healing process.

For more information or to speak with an advocate about participating, call New Hope for Women at 1-800-522-3304.

New Hope for Women offers support to people in Sagadahoc, Lincoln, Knox, and Waldo counties affected by domestic violence, dating violence and stalking.
